On Tuesday, June 9 at 10:10 a.m. (EDT), the Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission will begin conducting interviews of the applicants for the Allen Superior Court Civil Division. The interviews will take place in Courtroom 107 in the Allen County Courthouse at 715 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
A vacancy on the Allen Superior Court will occur in June 2020 when Judge Nancy Eshcoff Boyer retires. Under state law, the Commission is required to nominate three candidates for appointment to the Allen Superior Court when a vacancy arises. The final appointment will be made by Governor Eric Holcomb.
The interviews are open to the public, and the schedule is as follows:

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch and Executive Session

1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Magistrate Jason Custer
2:00 p.m. – 2:20 p.m. – Break
2:20 p.m. – 2:50 p.m. – David Bailey

3:20 p.m. – TBD – Executive Session/Announcement
Members of the audience are asked to refrain from activities that might distract from the interview process. Questioning of the applicants is reserved for the Commission. The Commission has the following guidelines:
Enter and exit the room only between interviews Set up audio/video recording equipment in between interviews (no mult box provided) Artificial lighting shall not be used Media/public may interview the applicants before/after Commission’s interview outside Courtroom 107 at the applicant’s discretionInterviews were originally announced as taking place on April 8. Due to the social distancing required to slow the spread of COVID-19, the interviews have been rescheduled for June 9. The June interviews are open to the public; should adjustments be required based on social distancing measures, the public will be notified.
