About this Event
After finding at a bench trial that the State disproved Turner’s self-defense theory, the Marion Superior Court convicted him of Level 5 felony battery by means of a deadly weapon and imposed a three-year sentence. The Court of Appeals affirmed. Turner v. State, No. 23A-CR-1868 (Ind. Ct. App. Dec. 27, 2023) (mem.), vacated. The Supreme Court granted Turner’s petition to transfer and has assumed jurisdiction over the appeal.
