DESCRIPTION:The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee is beginning the
  process of selecting names to send to the Governor to fill a Republican v
 acancy on the Marion Superior Court. The vacancy will occur when Judge Lis
 a Borges retires on December 31\, 2020.\n\nCommittee Chairman and Indiana 
 Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa announced applications for the position a
 re available online and must be submitted through the Indiana Courts Porta
 l by noon (Eastern) on Monday\, December 7.\n\nThe 14-member Committee was
  established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2017. The Committee is req
 uired to submit to the Governor the "three most qualified candidates" for 
 appointment when a vacancy arises. Indiana law provides the framework for 
 the duties and membership of the Committee. More information about Marion 
 County judicial selection is available online.\n\nThe Committee will meet 
 on December 15 to interview the applicants in the FUSE West conference roo
 m on the second floor of the South Tower at Capital Center (201 N. Illinoi
 s St.\, Indianapolis\, IN 46204).
