DESCRIPTION:The Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission is begi
 nning the process of selecting a new superior court judge. A vacancy in Al
 len County will occur in January 2021 when Judge Thomas Felts retires from
  the Allen Circuit Court. However\, the vacancy will be for the Allen Supe
 rior Court - Criminal Division because Judge Wendy Davis will be transitio
 ning to the Allen Circuit Court after an unopposed election.\n\nCommission
  Chairperson and Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steve David announced appli
 cations for the position are available online at courts.in.gov/5752.htm an
 d must be submitted through the Indiana Courts Portal by Friday\, August 2
 1 at 12:00 p.m. (EDT).\n\nThe Commission was established by the Indiana Ge
 neral Assembly in 1983. According to Indiana law\, IC 33-33-2-32 to 33-33-
 2-45\, the Commission is required to submit to the Governor "the three mos
 t highly qualified candidates from among all those eligible" for appointme
 nt when a vacancy arises. The current Commission consists of:\n\n    Justi

 ing    Dan Palmer    Linda Polley    Mark TerrellThe Commission will meet 
 on August 31 and September 1 (if needed) to interview the applicants.
