DESCRIPTION:The St. Joseph Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission is
  beginning the process of selecting a new superior court judge. A vacancy 
 on the St. Joseph Superior Court will occur on January 1\, 2021 when Judge
  Jane Woodward Miller retires from her position.\n\nCommission Chairperson
  and Indiana Supreme Court Justice Christopher Goff announced applications
  for the position are available online at courts.in.gov/5754.htm and must 
 be submitted through the Indiana Courts Portal by Friday\, August 21 at 12
 :00 p.m. (EDT).\n\nAccording to Indiana law\, IC 33-33-71-29 to 33-33-71-4
 3\, the Commission is required to submit to the Governor "the five most hi
 ghly qualified candidates from among all those eligible" for appointment w
 hen a vacancy arises.\n\nThe Commission's interviews of the applicants and
  applicant names are confidential according to statute. The five candidate
 s are public record and will be announced when named by the Commission. Th
 e announcement is expected sometime in September.
