 n\nInterviews were originally announced as taking place on April 8 and wer
 e rescheduled for May 7-8. Due to the continued social distancing required
  to slow the spread of COVID-19\, the interviews are rescheduled for June 
 10. The location of the interviews will be announced on the vacancy websit
 e along with decorum rules which will be in effect\, including any adjustm
 ents that may be required based on social distancing measures.\n\nThe vaca
 ncy is the result of the retirement of Court of Appeals Judge John G. Bake
 r. According to the Indiana Constitution and state statute\, the seven-mem
 ber Judicial Nominating Commission must recruit and select candidates to f
 ill vacancies on Indiana appellate courts. With Chief Justice Loretta H. R
 ush as chair\, the Commission includes three lawyers elected by their peer
 s and three citizen-members appointed by the Governor.\n\nA second round o
 f interviews will take place on July 1. Following the interviews\, the Com
 mission will publicly vote to select the three most qualified candidates i
 n an executive session and submit them to Governor Eric Holcomb\, who has 
 60 days from receiving the list to select Indiana's next Court of Appeals 
 judge.
