About this Event
On December 15 at 9:00 a.m. EST, the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee will begin conducting interviews of applicants for one Marion County Superior Court judicial position. The interviews will be live streamed so that the public can view the vacancy process. The interview schedule and details on how to watch online will be available on the committee webpage sometime after the December 7 application deadline.
After all interviews have concluded on December 15 and the Committee deliberates in a private executive session, a public vote will also be live streamed. The Committee will make three recommendations for the vacancy. Those names are sent to the Governor, who makes the appointment.
The application process for the vacancy was announced in October. The 14-member Committee was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2017 and is chaired by Indiana Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa and Vice-Chair Court of Appeals of Indiana Chief Judge Cale Bradford. Indiana law provides the framework for the duties and membership of the Committee. More information about Marion County judicial selection is available online.
