The State charged Taylor with several crimes, alleging he sold illegal substances to a middleman, who then dealt substances that resulted in two deaths. Over Taylor’s objection, a detective testified that the middleman—who declined to testify at trial—identified Taylor as the person who sold the lethal substances. The Delaware Circuit Court convicted Taylor and imposed a forty-one-year sentence. The Court of Appeals affirmed. Taylor v. State, No. 24A-CR-2107 (Ind. Ct. App. Mar. 14, 2025) (mem.), trans. pending. Taylor has petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to accept jurisdiction over the appeal.
