About this Event
At age 13, A.R. committed an act that would have been Level 6 felony sexual battery if committed by an adult. He was transferred to the Department of Correction, and, upon release, the prosecutor filed a motion requesting that the Henry County Circuit Court reinstate jurisdiction and require A.R. to register as a sex or violent offender. The hearing was held after A.R. turned 18, and the juvenile court ordered A.R. to register. The Court of Appeals affirmed. A.R. v. State, 196 N.E.3d 289 (Ind. Ct. App. Oct. 5, 2022). A.R. has petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to accept jurisdiction over the appeal.
