A police officer obtained a warrant to search Bunnell’s home based on an affidavit stating he smelled from the door of the home what he knew through his training and experience to be raw marijuana. The Greene Superior Court denied Bunnell’s motion to suppress the evidence seized in the search. The Court of Appeals reversed, concluding the affidavit was insufficient to provide the judge with probable cause to issue the warrant. Bunnell v. State, 160 N.E.3d 1142 (Ind. Ct. App. 2020), vacated. The Supreme Court has granted transfer and assumed jurisdiction over the appeal.
