Dolsen sued VeoRide and Sweet Real Estate for injuries he suffered while fighting a fire at the defendants’ property. The Allen Superior Court granted the defendants’ motion for summary judgment, finding the Indiana Firefighter’s Rule barred recovery. The Court of Appeals reversed, finding genuine issues of material fact precluded summary judgment. Dolsen v. VeoRide, 220 N.E.3d 563 (Ind. 2023), trans. pending. VeoRide has filed a petition to transfer and asked the Indiana Supreme Court to assume jurisdiction over the appeal.
