View mapCome to the Nature Center for an up close and personal look Indiana's most venomous and most misunderstood snake! Learn about the history of timber rattlesnakes, including how this animal became an American symbol in the late 1700s on the Gadsden Flag. Learn how over a million visitors a year safely share the state park with these animals. We'll also discuss venom, how it works and is delievered, and how Indiana's venomous snakes compare to the rest of the world! At the end, we will feed the timber rattlesnake a live mouse. Please be aware this program involves live animals. A live snake feeding may not be suitable for all guests, particuarly children. Guests will have an opportunity to leave the program before the feeding, if they choose to do so.
