Join the Indiana DNR and the Three Rivers Chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation for a Turkey Hunting 101 workshop on Saturday, March 21 from 1 – 5 p.m. ET at Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area. Turkey hunting is great way start putting wild game on your table and practicing your skills in the woods this spring. Whether you're new to hunting or just geared up to try something different this season, we look forward to seeing you!

This workshop will cover basic turkey biology, hunting tips, gear selection, safety, regulations, and ways to take your harvest from field to fork. While hunter education is not required for this workshop, the content will build upon basic principles of hunter education. Prior certification in hunter education, either in person or online, is recommended. Find more information on online hunter education here.

The class will consist of a mix of lecture and hands-on activities to help solidify your turkey hunting knowledge and practice skills you may use in the field. Participants can expect a small amount of walking (up to one mile). Full-length pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
