Wish you could identify more wildflowers? Intimidated by the botanical terms used in flower descriptions? Not sure how to use a field guide properly? This workshop is for you!

This 2-hour interactive, virtual workshop will give you the tools you need to become successful at wildflower identification! We’ll dig into the structure of a flower and break down the terms often encountered. Then we’ll show you how to use that knowledge to navigate a wildflower field guide.

Each section ends with an immediate skill review, where you can assess your understanding of the concept and ask questions. After the workshop concludes, all attendees will be given access to a recording of the workshop to use for future reference and study.

Required to Participate

• Zoom application downloaded and installed prior to workshop start.
• Able to view and listen on a desktop computer or large tablet (smartphone screens will not display large enough images for you to fully participate).
• Able to print a hard copy of the workshop worksheet (emailed to you in advance).

Recommended to Participate

• Webcam with both audio and video so you can fully interact with the presenter and other attendees (audio only is okay, if connection speed is an issue).
• Copy of NEWCOMB’S WILDFLOWER GUIDE (by Lawrence Newcomb) to fully participate in the field guide portion; this is the field guide that we recommend for wildflower ID in the eastern United States.
