About this Event
View map2 miles, rugged, 2 hours
On May 16th of 2025, a tornado swept through the south side of Brown County State Park. Join a park naturalist on a guided hike on the road to see the tornado path. We will discuss the impact it had, view some of the damage, and hear about what the next step is for the forest. The hike is about two miles total, out and back. It should take about an hour and a half. While the hike is on the road, we should consider it moderate/rugged. There are hills, uneven pavement, and possible downed tree limbs.
Due to this hike being on a closed road instead of off trail, dogs are welcome!
Please keep in mind this is a guided hike. Hikers are expected to stay with the group on the road. Please not not bypass road closed barriers in an Indiana State Park without guidance from a park employee.
