Oct 16, 2026: Clinton Prairie Elementary Celebrates Grandparents Day

Fri, 16 Oct 2026 00:00:00 -0400

Clinton Prairie Elementary was excited to welcome grandparents and loved ones into our school for a special Grandparents Day celebration! Spread across four days and eight sessions, the event gave our students an opportunity to share a little piece of their school day with some very important people in their lives.

Throughout each session, students and their guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including crafts, games, cookies and a photo opportunity, and a visit to the Book Fair. The excitement throughout the building was easy to see as students proudly showed their loved ones around and spent time together at school.

One of the highlights of each session was a special student performance for our grandparents and guests. Some students recited poems, while other students had the chance to learn more about their grandparents through conversation questions such as, “What was school like for you when you were in elementary school?” These conversations provided a fun way for students to compare their school experiences with those of another generation.

Most importantly, Grandparents Day was about bringing families into our school and creating special memories together. We loved seeing the smiles, conversations, and excitement throughout all four days.

Thank you to all of the grandparents and loved ones who joined us and helped make Grandparents Day at CPE such a memorable event!

Oct 22, 2026: Clinton Prairie Preschool Students Learn About Fire Safety

Thu, 22 Oct 2026 00:00:00 -0400

Clinton Prairie Elementary's youngest learners recently enjoyed a special visit from the Frankfort Fire Department! Students in Mrs. Smith's 4-year-old preschool class and Ms. Olivia's 3-year-old preschool class had the opportunity to learn about fire safety and meet some of the firefighters who help keep our community safe.

During the visit, students learned important fire safety tips and gained a better understanding of the role firefighters play in protecting others. Students also had the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice by participating in hands-on fire safety activities in the gym and inside an inflatable house provided by the Frankfort Fire Department. These interactive experiences allowed students to practice important safety skills in a fun and engaging environment.

The visit was a great opportunity for our youngest Gophers to learn valuable safety lessons while building positive connections with local community helpers.

A special thank you to the Frankfort Fire Department for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit our preschool students and provide such a meaningful learning experience. We appreciate their dedication to keeping our community safe and their commitment to educating our youngest learners!

Oct 23, 2026: CPE Fifth Graders Commended at Camp Cullom Academy of Science

Fri, 23 Oct 2026 00:00:00 -0400

Clinton Prairie Elementary fifth-grade students recently had the opportunity to attend the Camp Cullom Academy of Science, joining more than 20 fifth graders from across Clinton County for a weekend filled with hands-on science, exploration, and learning.

The experience began Friday evening at Prairie Grass Observatory, where students explored the night sky using telescopes and binoculars to view Saturn, star clusters, the Milky Way, and constellations.

On Saturday, students put science into action through a variety of activities. They practiced the scientific method through drone photography, conducted creek sampling with Purdue aquatic ecologists, learned about tree identification, explored rockets and flight theory, participated in bubble science, and experienced VEX Competition Robotics.

The weekend also included a wagon ride around Camp Cullom's 90 acres, a family dinner, and student presentations highlighting what they had learned.

While we are proud of everything our students learned, we are even more proud of how they represented Clinton Prairie Elementary. Camp Cullom staff specifically commended our students for their manners, thoughtful questions, confidence, appreciation, and willingness to include and interact with students from other schools.

In recognition of the outstanding way they represented CPE, each of our participating fifth graders signed our Positive Office Referral Wall!

Congratulations to these students for demonstrating that being a Gopher is about more than what you accomplish in the classroom—it's also about how you treat others and represent your school community. We are very proud of you!

Oct 30, 2026: Fierce Female Series Kicks Off the Year with an Inspiring Evening

Fri, 30 Oct 2026 00:00:00 -0400

The Fierce Female Series kicked off the school year with an inspiring evening featuring Tiffini Grimes, Deputy Athletic Director and Senior Female Administrator at Purdue University.

With a captivated audience of young women, Tiffini shared her experiences and powerful lessons about finding your voice, surrounding yourself with positive energy, drowning out negativity, and learning to bounce back from failure. She encouraged our girls to give themselves grace, speak kindly to themselves, and recognize that setbacks are opportunities for growth.

One of the evening’s most meaningful lessons was the concept of mudita—the practice of finding joy in the happiness and success of others. It was a powerful reminder that we can celebrate one another’s accomplishments, lift each other up, and recognize that another person’s success does not diminish our own.

Tiffini’s story, wisdom, and encouragement left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. We are incredibly grateful that she made the trip to Clinton Prairie to share her experiences and inspire our young women to embrace their strengths, support one another, and confidently write their own stories.

Thank you, Tiffini, for reminding our girls that their voices matter, their setbacks do not define them, and being a woman is a strength to be celebrated!
